What colors should I paint my room?

We're building a new extension onto our house and soon I'll have a new room. I was wondering what I should paint the walls and trim, and what color carpet will be best. I want it to go with my bedspread. My bedspread is all pastel colors, striped blue, white, pink, green, and yellow. The blue stripes are the thickest and most noticeable. I want the flooring to be something that could easily go with different colors, like, if I deciede to change my bedspread and paint the walls a different color a few years from now. But it CAN'T be white, because white gets dirty too easily and I don't think I'll have enough time to clean it :( What should I do?

  1. BLACK
  2. Make it a pastel color.
  3. Black with splatter marks of RED like some one was mutilated... hand prints sliding down the wall.... spectacular effects for a room!!!
  4. I think u should have one wall blue and another pink and another green and the other yellow and put a little bit of white into it all.u could have polka dots or stripes or stuff like that I hope this works good luck!
  5. choose colours that stand out and brighten your room not dull ones.....
  6. Paint your walls a light tan or beige. Those colors are neutral and will go with anything. Paint the trim a darker shade of brown and find a carpet that has flecks of color mixed with an eggshell or cream color. Accent the rest of the room in bright colors of the same colors that is in your bedspread. Try and find curtains that match the colors of your bedspread or buy sheets that match and make them into curtains. The paint should be a semi-gloss paint. This paint is washable..
  7. Lime green with orange trims around the base and windows and wall paper it half way up------------------------------------- and hand rail it on top of it._______________________________ / / / / / / / / / wall paper
  8. I answer this question often, and usually the same. You won't get any answers here that are strictly right or wrong, but will be personal opinions and preferences. What works for one, may not work for another. After applying thousands of gallons of paint, I know this much. The customer is always right,,, even when they aren't,,,no offense. I suggest getting a color wheel, or chip sample booklet from a decnt paint dealer, then compare what you have with what you want, and what colors will work with what you have. The good news about paint is that it can be painted over. Rev. Steven
  9. Light gray walls with white trim. Hardwood floors.
  10. If it's in the budget, I think hardwood floors are timeless and bring sophistication to any room! For your walls, an ivory or a pale pale yellow look really pretty. Also, a very light aqua-ish blue might be pretty too....
  11. They have a whole range of tan carpeting that looks good with any paint or any decorating color. I would paint the woodword a creamy white and paint the walls the palest blue you can get. Go with a low gloss paint so they are easy to wash. If you use a flat paint, smudges are extremely difficult to remove. If you change bedspreads, you can always change the wall colors and the carpet and trim will be fine.
  12. SURF BLUE
  13. I would paint the walls a soft, buttery yellow. This will match almost anything in the future. Paint the trim white and use wood floors. Be sure when you chose your paint that it is very soft; yellow, more than any other color INTENSIFIES when on the walls.
  14. I would do the trim white, somehow trim just always looks best white. I would choose one wall as an accent wall (choose the pastel blue or pink) - like the wall your bed is set up against - your bed will look best if it can be in the middle of that wall. The rest of the walls would look nice in a light gray. Floors? I would do laminate - dark or light would look nice. Have fun!
